The Humane Society of Central Texas has a BARN CAT BUDDIES program
that gives healthy feral cats a second chance to live as "mousers" in rural barns.


NOT YOUR GRANDMA'S KITTY, PILGRIM!

Barn Cat Buddies are the "Clint Eastwoods" of cats... they prefer outdoor living and make excellent natural pest control.
  
   
HSCT brings the equipment and supplies for a 2-week acclimation process. Cats are then released to start their jobs on the ranch as "mousers." Only the "Clint Eastwoods of feral cats" are eligible for this program. Feral cats are not socialized to humans and prefer to come out at night. They provide "natural pest control" and help farmers and ranchers battle rodents and snakes.

* "Barn Cats" are adopted out in pairs for a small adoption fee.
* All Barn Cats are spay/neutered and given a rabies vaccination.
* Owners of Barn Cat Buddies provide basic needs like food, water and shelter.
* In return, these tough kitties protect feed, seed and equipment from pesky rodents.
